Glow Fish
Project type
Sustainable Product Design
Date
April 2025
Location
Savannah College of Art and Design
GlowFish is a sustainable ambient lighting concept inspired by the beauty and movement of underwater ecosystems. The project explores how unconventional materials can be transformed into functional, high-end products by combining recycled fish scales, copper, and polycarbonate into a sculptural table lamp that emits a warm, diffused glow. Through material research, sketch exploration, physical experimentation, and iterative prototyping, I investigated the aesthetic and structural qualities of each material to create a design that balances craftsmanship, biomimicry, and sustainability. GlowFish demonstrates how waste materials can be reimagined into elegant, environmentally conscious products that bring both warmth and storytelling into the home.
