WayPoint is a wearable navigation device designed to empower blind and visually impaired individuals to navigate public spaces with greater independence and confidence. Inspired by the everyday challenges of orientation and mobility, the project combines AI-assisted object detection, GPS navigation, audio guidance, and haptic feedback into a lightweight neck-worn device that delivers intuitive, real-time assistance. Throughout the design process, I conducted primary and secondary research, user interviews, ergonomic studies, and multiple rounds of prototyping and user testing to refine both the form and functionality. Guided by human factors and universal design principles, WayPoint demonstrates how thoughtful product design can make technology more accessible, inclusive, and empowering.
